Say what you need, where and when. It takes a couple of minutes and costs nothing.
Local providers offer to help. Look at their listings, photos, badges and reviews, and ask questions first.
Pay through Needsey once you agree. The money is held until the job is confirmed done, then released to the provider.
A good walk makes a big difference to a dog stuck at home all day. People on Needsey book local dog walkers for regular weekday walks, lunchtime toilet breaks for puppies, beach or park runs for high-energy breeds, and dog sitting at home while they're away. Some walkers take one dog at a time, others walk small groups. Post your dog's size, energy level and how they get on with other dogs, and local walkers can offer a time that suits.
The length of the walk, solo or group, how many dogs you have, and how often you book. Pick-up distance and weekend times can also make a difference.
Most walks are 30 minutes to an hour. Puppies and older dogs often do better with shorter, more frequent outings. Agree the length when you book.
Yes. In New Zealand, dogs over three months old must be registered with the local council. Ask your walker to follow the council's leash and off-lead area rules.
Say so in your job. Many walkers offer solo walks, and a meet and greet helps them plan a route that suits your dog.
Many people leave a key or a lockbox code. Agree how access works before the first walk and keep codes out of public notes.
You pay through Needsey once you and a provider have agreed the job. Nothing is charged before then. The money is held until the job is confirmed done: by you, or automatically if you haven't confirmed or pressed Not done yet within 5 days of the provider marking it finished. It is released to the provider 24 hours after that, unless a dispute is raised in that time.
Every provider completes an ID check before taking jobs. Some work needs more: a Ministry of Justice criminal record check for babysitting, companionship for older people and school tutoring, and a licence and insurance for electrical, plumbing, gas and building work. Listings show badges for the checks a provider has passed. For other work that needs a licence, ask the provider for theirs.
If the provider marks the job finished and it isn't, press Not done yet and say what's missing. Once a job is confirmed done, you can raise a dispute from the job's chat during the 24 hours before the payment is released, with photos or other evidence. A real person at Needsey reviews it and decides whether the payment goes to the provider or back to you. This doesn't take away your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
