Introduction to Improv & Comedy — The Gag Department We take absurdity seriously. Whether you're looking to dip your toes into improv, build confidence, sharpen your comedic instincts, or simply have more fun, The Gag Department is here to help. With a combined 20 years of experience in comedy, improv, and performance, we offer supportive, practical tutoring tailored to your needs. We'll introduce you to the fundamentals of improvisation, comedic timing, character creation, scene work, storytelling, and the art of saying “yes, and!” Our approach is hands-on, playful, and encouraging. You'll learn how to think on your feet, trust your instincts, work collaboratively, and turn unexpected moments into comedy. No experience is necessary — just curiosity and a willingness to play. Whether you're a complete beginner, a nervous first-timer, an aspiring performer, or someone who wants to feel more confident thinking on their feet, we'll meet you where you are and help you build from there. Come as you are. Make mistakes. Find the funny.
